By ADAM ZAGORIA
Former South Florida coach Bryan Hodgson has signed with Providence as its new men’s basketball coach, the school announced Sunday.
A press conference is set for 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Hodgson, 38, replaces Kim English, who was fired this month after three seasons.
“I’m incredibly honored and excited to be named the next head coach of the Providence Friars men’s basketball program,” Hodgson said in a statement. “This is a program with a proud tradition, passionate fan base, and a city that truly embraces its team. We’re going to build something that reflects that pride. We will be tough, disciplined, and relentless in our pursuit of excellence.”
An Olean, N.Y. native, Hodgson was also linked to the Syracuse job.
