Iowa State All-American Joshua Jefferson exited the Cyclones’ first-round game against No. 15 Tennessee State on Friday with an apparent lower left leg injury.
Jefferson was unable to apply pressure to his left leg and is now using crutches in St. Louis.
Barring an upset, No. 2 Iowa State would face No. 7 Kentucky in the Round of 32 on Sunday.
Named a consensus second-team All-American, Jefferson averaged 16.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game for the Cyclones this season.
In his second season with the program, he has now appeared in 70 total games for the Cyclones.
