San Diego parts ways with head coach Steve Lavin

San Diego has made the decision to part ways with its head coach.

Head coach Steve Lavin will not return to the program for the 2026-27 season, the team announced in a statement on Wednesday.

USD Athletics announced Wednesday that Steve Lavin, head coach for the men's basketball program, will not return for the 2026-2027 season. Lavin will remain with the Toreros through the conclusion of the 2025-2026 season.

Lavin will continue to coach the Toreros for the remainder of this season.

San Diego is 11-17 on the season and 5-10 in WCC play.
