Charles Barkley weighs in on March Madness: ‘The Arizona Invitational’

March Madness is known amongst sports fans as one of the wildest and most unpredictable events of the year. But one of ESPN’s biggest names already sees the national champion as a foregone conclusion.

Charles Barkley expects Arizona to dominate the competition in March.

“I’ve been watching more college basketball, and as I call March Madness, it’s the Arizona Invitational, just for the record,” he said on Wednesday. “That’s what March Madness is going to be. It’s going to be the Arizona Invitational.”

Arizona remains undefeated at 21-0 and is the only power conference team to achieve that feat at this point in the season.

However, they will not be without competition once The Big Dance comes around. A multitude of teams have had dominant seasons such as Duke, UConn, Houston, Michigan and Nebraska among others who will have a say as to who is cutting down the nets when it is all said and done.

For now though, it isn’t a bad call to say the team who has yet to lose a game should be the favorite when tournament play arrives.
