The newest addition to Syracuse’ starting lineup continues to impress for the Orange.

Kiyan Anthony, the son of Basketball Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony, had a breakout performance in his first game as a starter under head coach Adrian Autry.

Anthony scored an efficient 19 points on 8-11 from the field along with 4 assists and 3 rebounds as Syracuse beat Del State 83-43.

“Coach decided to put me out there with the first group and you know I went out there and I provided and I did what I can and I feel like we had a good game,” Anthony said post game.

In his first two games as a freshman Anthony has shown that not only can he score the basketball, but he can do it efficiently.

The 6-foot-5 guard has made 14 of his 21 shots for Syracuse so far.

If he can continue to score at this level with this level of efficiency the New York guard could end up becoming an NBA-ready prospect much sooner than many might have thought.
