The No. 1 player in the Class of 2026 has withdrawn from his high school.
Tyran Stokes will move on for his final high school season, Notre Dame (CA) High School announced on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-7 prospect has yet to commit to a college. The final three schools still remaining in his recruitment are Kansas, Kentucky and Oregon. However, Kentucky has emerged as a favorite to land the No. 1 prospect.
“Notre Dame High School acknowledges Tyran Stokes’ decision to withdraw and explore new opportunities,” the school said in a statement. “We appreciate the contributions he made to our basketball program and community during his time here. We wish Tyran all the best as he pursues his future goals, and we are confident he will find success,”
Stokes faced disciplinary action at Notre Dame prior to his departure due to an altercation that got him suspended from playing football, according to SportsIllustrated.
It was not immediately clear if his withdrawal was related to another disciplinary incident.
