LAWRENCE (KSNT) - The Kansas Jayhawks are back in business.

The No. 19 Jayhawks downed Green Bay Monday night winning 94-51.

Freshman phenom Darryn Peterson and sophomore forward Flory Bidunga combined for 44 points on the night.

Bidunga led the team with 23 points to go along with an efficient 9-11 shooting. Peterson had 21 on 7-11 shooting including knocking in three from downtown.

"He was good obviously in that first half. He scores so easily," KU head coach Bill Self said. "We couldn't play him much in the second half but he played a great game.

Peterson was taken out in the second half due to cramps/score of the game which Self said he would've went back in if it was a close game.

Bidunga said the two could have an elite two man game.

He's a great player, we all know that," Bidunga said. "I'll be open for the lob if my man helps and he does a goof job of finding me."

The Jayhawks came out swinging, shooting just under 60 percent in the first half leading 48-27 at the break.

Out of the break, the Jayhawks were back to business with a 7-0 run, and never looked back in the win.

It was the first all-time meeting between KU and Green Bay.

With the win, the Jayhawks how now won 53-straight home openers, dating back to the 1973-74 season under Ted Owens.

The Jayhawks will now travel to Chapel Hill on Friday for its first test of the season against No. 25 North Carolina.
