Five-star guard Deron Rippey Jr. of Blair (NJ) Academy and the New Heights AAU program took an official visit to Syracuse this past weekend.
“The message Is Ron Ron can come in and play with the ball in his hands and make players better as a freshmen,” his father Deron Rippey Sr. told ZAGSBLOG.
“Syracuse wants to play uptempo with multiple guards and feel Ron Ron is a need.”

The 6-foot-2 point guard is ranked No. 1 at his position nationally in the 247Sports Composite for 2026.
He has now visited Texas, Miami, North Carolina, Louisville and Syracuse and heads to Kentucky on Monday.
He also has several other visits scheduled to Duke (Oct. 21-23) Tennessee (Oct. 23-25) NC State (Nov. 7-9).
Before Kentucky, Rippey will participate in the Wootten Camp Thursday and Friday in Las Vegas.
Over the weekend, Rippey and his team meet Kansas commit Tay Kinney and RWE in the Border League on Friday in Las Vegas (8:45 p.m. ET, NBA App). On Saturday, they face Tyran Stokes and Sherman Oaks (CA) Notre Dame (3:45 ET, NBA App).
