Top-50 prospect Ralph Scott commits to Tennessee
By ADAM ZAGORIA
Ralph Scott, a Top-50 wing from IMG Academy (FL), announced his commitment to Tennessee on Tuesday.
“It was a family environment, a very close-knit group,” Scott told CBS Sports. “I was able to build a great relationship with coach (Rick) Barnes after just speaking with him for the first time on the visit. I really cherish that bond I was able to build with him.”
The 6-foot-7 forward out of IMG Academy chose the Vols over Purdue, Houston and Texas A&M. He is the No. 35 overall recruit in the country.
“They were saying they would use me like Kevin Durant or Dalton Knecht,” Scott told Volquest after his visit (via On3.com), “where I can get open shots, get into the midrange.
“The same type of stuff that Nate Ament is going to be doing. Getting open shots, getting to the rim and playing defense one through five, being a pest.”
Scott had taken visits to all four schools, visiting Houston in August and Purdue, Tennessee and Texas A&M in September.
Scott made his first impression on the national stage at the NBA Academy games in the summer where he broke out as one of the best prospects in his class.
“Ralph’s best basketball is completely ahead of him. In order to get there, he has a work ethic instilled in him by his family,” IMG Academy coach Sean McAloon told ZAGSBLOG. “He will bring his 3 & D mentality to Tennessee and help continue to keep them at the top of the SEC.”
He is Tennessee’s first 2026 commitment.
