Class of 2026 four-star forward Julius Avent canceled his scheduled visit to Seton Hall scheduled for this weekend and will announce his commitment on Wednesday at around 2:30 p.m. eastern, he told ZAGSBLOG.
Avent is a 6-foot-7 forward from New Jersey and is a senior at Bergen Catholic High School (NJ). He announced his final list of schools, a list of five, on August 6. The list included Xavier, Michigan State, Seton Hall, Penn State and Providence. Notably, Avent’s father, Anthony, was a standout at Seton Hall and was drafted in the first round of the 1991 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks.
Avent also recently canceled his official visits to Penn State (September 6) and Providence (September 18) earlier this month. He did, however take two official visits this fall, to Michigan State (August 30) and Xavier (September 12).
Michigan State has been prioritizing Avent and four-star guard Jasiah Jervis, a guard from Archbishop Stepinac (NY), two of the top players in the New York City area.
Avent is rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 93 overall prospect in the class of 2026, according to 247Sports.
