Louisville, Cincinnati set to renew rivalry
By JAMES MADDEN
Louisville and Cincinnati are set to renew its rivalry, with the two scheduled to meet on November 21 at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati.
The two programs have met an even 100 times, with the first meeting coming in 1921, but haven’t faced off since November 23, 2022 when Cincinnati won 81-62 at the Maui Invitational.
“Adding a neutral site game against Cincinnati was just another great piece in our scheduling puzzle,” said head coach Pat Kelsey. “There is great history between our two programs as we were rivals for many years. I sense the fan bases on both sides are excited. I grew up going to the Riverfront Coliseum which is now Heritage Bank Arena. In fact, it was the first place that I saw Coach Crum’s Louisville Cardinals play live – I’m excited to coach the 2025-26 edition of the Cards in the same venue.”
This matchup will be apart of an MTE that also includes Eastern Michigan and NJIT. The Cardinals will play Eastern Michigan on November 24 and NJIT on November 26 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville.
It will be the program’s first meeting with NJIT and second with Eastern Michigan, dating back to a win on December 12, 2015.
