Mayor of London’s Basketball Taskforce calls for evidence

0 28

The Mayor of London’s newly formed Basketball Taskforce has launched its first major piece of work – a city-wide Call for Evidence – as it looks to shape the future of the game in the capital.

Announced by Sadiq Khan in September 2024 following talks with NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum, the Taskforce was created to grow participation, improve infrastructure, attract major events, and create positive opportunities for young people.

It brings together figures from sport, business, and professional teams – with both Jeremy Sochan and Luol Deng having been confirmed a part of it.

Now, the group is asking for feedback from across the basketball community to inform its recommendations.

The Call for Evidence is seeking views across the sport, including on participation, infrastructure and events.

Submissions are open until Friday 15 August 2025, with players, coaches, referees, club leaders, event organisers, and fans all encouraged to contribute.

Those wishing to take part can complete the Call for Evidence online here before the deadline.
