Luka Dončić is back in America ahead of a very busy month to come
On Sunday, Luka Dončić returned to America ahead of a busy month that will include a likely contract extension and the start of EuroBasket.
It might be the offseason, but Luka Dončić is set for a very busy month-plus before training camp, starting this week.
On Sunday, Luka posted to his Instagram that he was back in America ahead of a promotional tour for his signature shoe with Jordan Brand.

That tour will carry into August, right up to the time that he could potentially sign an extension with the Lakers. All signs point to that being the case once he’s eligible on Aug. 2, including his own national team head coach seemingly confirming he will do so recently.
That will just be the beginning for Luka, though. He will then head overseas and begin his preparation with the Slovenian national team for EuroBasket.
While the official games don’t start until late August, the team will be playing preparation games throughout the month. And there’s going to be a lot of them.

Preparation games:
8. August: Slovenia - Germany
10. August: Slovenia - Germany
15. August: Slovenia - Lithuania
16. August: Slovenia - Latvia
19. August: Slovenia - Great Britain
21. August: Slovenia - Serbia

That schedule only accounts for the group play games. Depending on how deep into the knockout rounds Slovenia advances, they could play until Sep. 14 when the final takes place.
While the EuroBasket games will be available to stream, the preparation games will not be as readily available.
Seeing that schedule also makes it clear why Luka prioritized getting in better shape this summer ahead of that hectic schedule.
And that will take Luka right up to the start of training camp for the Lakers, meaning there’s very little break coming for him in the next month, assuming Slovenia has even a decent showing in EuroBasket.
