Backing PSG to beat Chelsea feels like a safe play. However, have a little fun with these odds
The French giants are favored to take the Club World Cup title, but these wagers will spice up your viewing pleasure
In addition to the usual odds posted by Fanduel during this summer of soccer, they were able to bake in some fun ones ahead of Sunday’s final of the FIFA World Cup (3 p.m., TBS, DAZN).
We took a look at some and in addition to our prediction of Sunday’s finale between Chelsea and Paris St.-Germain at MetLife Stadium, here are the five player props and odds to consider to spice up your viewing experience. It should be noted that we feel pretty good about our suggestions, and our 4-1 record of predictions for the Concacaf Gold Cup earlier this month drives home that when it comes to these odds, we’ve down our homework and are speaking from experience.

Take the four-leg same game parlay
Is it a gamble? Of course it is, but that’s why we’re here. Coming in at +1234 is a PSG moneyline, PSG’s Ousmane Dembele and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer to find the back of the net and an over under of 3.5 goals.
There’s a very real possibility that both Dembele and Palmer notch goals in this tournament with both coming off semifinal appearances where they found the back of the net. However, expect Chelsea to learn from Real Madrid’s mistakes and make this is much tighter game, so the under of 3.5 seems like a smart play.
Take PSG to lead after the 20 minute mark.
The press of Paris St.-Germain is well documented in this tournament and a tough thing for many teams to break. It’s caused other teams to make mistakes and has gotten PSG to this point. There’s no reason for manager Luis Enrique to not employ a similar gameplan and we predict that press early will be too much for Chelsea to stave off.
Right now, Fanduel has PSG at +550 to lead after the first 20 minutes and with the firepower this team has been able to go at teams with we see this as an easy plus-minus wager to take. You could even consider parlaying it with…
Take 2-1 or 3-1 as the correct scoreline.
The goals will flow and will the run of form PSG has been on, we’d like to think they’ll come from the Parisian club. Chelsea bags one, but PSG could very likely even more than two. Right now, Fanduel likes a 2-1 final at +1600 and a 3-1 at +4300. With odds that favorable you wouldn’t be wrong to bet on both.
Take Desire Doue as an anytime goalscorer
The 19-year-old winger has been the talk of the season for a club that is looking at the Club World Cup as the second major tournament win in succession. The first was June’s UEFA Champions League final in which Doue bagged goals that fueled PSG’s first Champions League appearance since 2019, and the first title for the French club.
Doue loves big moments and we can’t think of one bigger in the final of this expanded Club World Cup format. Under the summer sun of Met Life, we think it will be Doue’s time to shine, and at +230, your time to get paid.
Two other players besides Doue and Chelsea’s Palmer who could find the back of the net: Consider Chelsea’s Liam Delap (+330) and PSG’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia at +160.
