So here we are. We picked thiero an athletic wing. Needs work on his offensive game.

I like him a lot.

But we are not there. In fact I see us as being at least 2 moves from being close.

Before we even start we need to re sign lbj. I’d love him to take a haircut. Take another 2 year with a player option in the black end. Maybe take 40 mil? But I doubt it.

Dfs. Dfs wants more than one year. we own him $15 mil let’s give him 3–35 10 for this year guarantees $20 more for him gives us $5 mil more to sign a free agent ok let’s hope that works

We obviously need a center. And of course there are two ways to get there. Trade or free agent pick up.

IMO it’s time to sell high on Austin. Austin for Kessler. Austin and Rui for jjj. Austin/rui/dalton for sabonis. But if we can land one of those 3 we don’t trade Austin until maybe the mid season trade deadline. A lot comes down to how he is playing. His numbers last year were as a number 2. I think his numbers are going down. If he is with us, he will be asked to play more D. Maybe come off the bench? Lower numbers either way. I think this is the time to sell. If not, with lower numbers, he will demand less money. He may regret not taking the 4-91.

If we can’t get a trade for a good center I like Bitadze. 3-35? If not him capella may be the best fall back option. I see him as a 2-20. Neither of these are long term options. Either could be good backups. But both better than Hayes. We need a lob threat shot blocker. Both meet that. I don’t think brook lopez comes. He would be good. Maybe Disneyland could influence his decision. Either way any of these above are better than Hayes. We have to get off Hayes. I also like Kokoko as a future project and jemison as a backup muscle big.

Wings. Well. First off I think our draft pick will play this year and help. Second I think dalton will improve enough with his d and strength to play a lot this year. Rui is our starting wing along with lbj. We play two 3/4 types. I would love love love walker-Alexander. If I had a choice he would be the guy. 3-40. This is where lbj haircut make all the difference. If he does, then we can have it all. The good backup big and the good future 3-d wing. Thiero is a good future slasher-D wing. There is a big difference. If not we have to make a trade.

Who to trade. Gabe. He is an expiring contract that will be helpful to a rebuilding team. But he is also our best on ball defender. Thybulle? He is also expiring contract but Portland is obviously not building around him. So maybe. Terrance Mann was just traded to Washington. He has 3 years left. The wiz probably want off his contract tract. Maybe. There are a bunch of guys here that make around $10 that don’t play and could be traded for gabe. Maybe jj wakes up to using Vando here. He is our best on ball defender. And jj keeps playing him on bigs. Wtf jj? I don’t think Vando has any trade value so maybe let’s use him? We need to hire a shooting coach and have Vando live with him this summer. Then I’d start the guy. Put him on ball on defense. From ja to sga he got this. Damn I miss max. He did this so well. Could we get his bro? He cheap? I want a tall 3/on ball d guy. Hot take time. Bronny could be the future on ball defender. 3-on ball D guy. And hey. Most see this as his future role anyways. Will he be ready this year. Probably not. Maybe?

I kinda expect something big that I have not mentioned. There is no way for to or anyone other than Rob to know what’s available. Then I think he may take a big shot. But this is my around the fringes ideas. I like Rui. I’d trade him. But we better get someone good for it. Really good. When lbj retires he could be our 4 for five plus years. We will need a big to go with Luca. Either now or later. Luca is the player we build around for a decade. Reaves is to much like Luca to be a big part of our future. That’s why he is our biggest trade chip.

We need a star big. We need a good 3/D wing. We need a good 3/on ball defender. I hope we answer at least one of those this summer or mid season trade and I hope it’s Reaves that gets us that piece. ✌️
