Nothing concrete, but some positive language

Duke target Jordan Smith, out of Fairfax’s Paul VI where current Blue Devils Pat Ngongba and Darren Harris played, is a huge recruit in the class of 2026. He’s a Top Ten recruit and one of the best shooting guards in the country and he had some interesting comments on his recruitment by the Blue Devils, telling this to On3.com, as related by DukeWire:

“I mean, I got two teammates over there, Pat (Ngongba) and Darren (Harris), so seeing them all the time and talking with them all the time about how it is is really fun,” he said. “Coach (Jon) Scheyer texts me all the time, just seeing them here, in Colorado, is just wild. Not only does it show their commitment to recruiting me, but to the other players as well. They want to win national championships, and I love to win, so it really just fits the culture.”

It’s his decision and obviously we’re biased, but it sounds like a good match. And if Duke can get him and his good buddy Brandon McCoy, Duke’s backcourt will be tough to top.
