Cavs work out four additional players before the draft
Four players were brought in for workouts on Thursday.
The Cleveland Cavaliers own the 49th and 58th picks in next week’s NBA Draft. Whether or not they use either or both picks remains to be seen. What we do know is that they’re still bringing in prospects for workouts.
According to Chris Fedor of cleveland.com, the Cavs brought in Brooks Barnhizer, AJ Clayton, Jaxson Robinson, and Amari Williams for workouts.
#Cavs had an interesting group of prospects in for a pre-draft workout today. League sources tell @clevelanddotcom that Northwestern’s Brooks Barnhizer, AJ Clayton from Ohio University and Kentucky’s Jaxson Robinson and Amari Williams were among the participants.

These are all players who might be able to be had as undrafted free agents. Mock drafts can vary somewhat drastically when you start getting into the late second-round pick territory. But, based on ESPN’s big board, they would all be undrafted (there’s only 59 selections in this year’s draft).
Let’s take a quick look at these four players.
Brooks Barnhizer is a 23-year-old 6’6” wing from Northwestern. He averaged 17.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists on .414/.266/.764 shooting splits. ESPN has him ranked as the 85th prospect in the draft class.
AJ Clayton is not on any NBA big boards I could find, including those that rank 100 players. Clayton is from Duncan Falls and went to Ohio University. The 6’7” forward averaged 14 points and 5.3 rebounds on .480/.375/.787 shooting for the Bobcats this past season.
Jaxson Robinson is a 6’7” scoring guard who finished his college career at Kentucky. The 22-year-old averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists on .432/.376/.763 shooting splits. He was named Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year in 2023-24 when he was at BYU. Robinson is listed as 72nd on ESPN’s big board.
Amari Williams is a defensive-first big from England. The 6’10” big averaged 10.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists on .561/.250/.623 shooting splits for Kentucky. Williams spent the first four years of his college career at Drexel, where he was named CAA Defensive Player of the Year three times. Williams is 60th on ESPN’s big board.
