Wojo Gets A Nice New Gig
Duke legend is now an NBA assistant
If any of Duke’s players in the draft - Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Khaman Maluach, Tyrese Proctor Sion James - ends up in Utah, he’ll have some Brotherhood company.
Kyle Filipowksi had a solid freshman year as most of you know and now another Duke legend will be there too: former Duke point guard and Mike Krzyzewski assistant Steve “Wojo” Wojciechowski, who has been coaching Utah’s G-League team, the Salt Lake City Stars, will now be a full-time Jazz assistant.
It clearly took him a little while to get over his departure from Marquette, but Wojo moved to Utah, where his wife’s family lives, and took a little time off.
When he came back with the Stars, he did a nice job there, impressing Utah coach Will Hardy, who calls him “an incredible teacher” and, not surprisingly, lauds his competitive nature.
It’s great to see him getting back to high-level basketball and we’re sure he’s going to be great.
