North Carolina lands Montenegrin guard

North Carolina has landed a commitment from Montenegrin forward Luka Bogavac, Jonathan Givony reported on Saturday.
Bogavac is a 6-5, 200-pound guard currently playing for SC Derby of the ABA League in Montenegro. During the 2024-25 season for SC Derby, he averaged 14.9 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game and 2.3 assists per game in 29 appearances.
While averaging nearly 15 points per game this season, Bogavac shot 45.1% from the field and 39.9% from three-point range. He also finished the season as a top-five scorer in the Adriatic League.
Bogavac will turn 22 in September and can bring experience and maturity to the Tar Heels.
Bogavac joins a recruiting class of four-star Derek Dixon, four-star Isaiah Denis, five-star Caleb Wilson and transfers Jaydon Young (Virginia Tech), Jarin Stevenson (Alabama), Kyan Evans (Colorado State), Henri Veesaar (Arizona) and Jonathan Powell (West Virginia).
