A promising young player comments on his recruitment

For those who don’t know, Christian Collins is a 6-8 forward from California who has risen rapidly to become one of the top players in the Class of 2026.

He’s being hit up hard by schools like Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Kentucky and Texas, among others.

Here’s what he had to say about Duke, according to Zagsblog.com:

“Duke [in home visit] was great. They met my mom and auntie and we all talked. It was a great experience. Jon Scheyer is a great coach. He’s about business and if he wants you — I was talking to Man Man, they call him Man Man but Khaman [Maluach] — he said to me ‘If he want you, he’s going to get you.’ And that was funny talking to Man Man. Coach Scheyer, he’s a great coach. Same thing with coach [Chris] Carrawell. I have a relationship with him too. So it’s good.”

That’s pretty hilarious from Maluach.

Collins also said this about what he’s looking for:

“Somewhere it feels like a home, like a family. Somewhere where — I want to be one-and-done, but if that’s not the case — then two-and-done, three-and-done, whatever it is. I just really want to go somewhere where I can develop as fast as possible and it feels like family.”

Interestingly, both his father, DeAngelo, and aunt, Alexis Kendrick, played high-level ball, which fits the Duke profile.
