Caitlin Clark Doesn't Hesitate to Name Basketball's 'GOAT'
Caitlin Clark received some love from the "GOAT" - at least according to her - before and after her Indiana Fever blew out the Chicago Sky 93-58 on May 17.
Just before tip, LeBron James shared an Instagram carousel of him and Clark captioned, "Good luck and DO YOU per usual this season!!!" Following the blowout victory and triple-double from Clark, who finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, James said, "TRIPLE DUB CC!! Great way to kick off the season!"
After taking a few days to reflect on the meeting, Clark admitted she was starstruck by the four-time NBA champion. "I knew I was gonna meet him when I was coming to the game and that's one of my idols," she said.

That's when she dropped a truth bomb on the basketball world, choosing James as the greatest basketball player of all time over Michael Jordan.
"LeBron is the GOAT to me, so it was just a crazy moment where I got to meet him in the back. And for him to go out of his way and wish me luck on the season. He really does follow the WNBA and he watches and he loves and appreciates basketball and he loves and appreciates the way the Fever and my teammates play. It's just really cool."
During her rookie season, Clark led the Fever to the playoffs for the first time since 2016 while earning Rookie of the Year honors after averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game.
She got off to an even better start to the 2025 WNBA season and will hope to keep the momentum going in a battle against the Atlanta Dream on May 20.
