Warriors vs. Timberwolves Game 3 injury report

The full injury report for Saturday’s playoff game.

It’s almost time for Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves. And it’s a golden opportunity for the Warriors to steal a game. After a disastrous start to Game 2, the Dubs settled down and played the Wolves even for the final 40 or so minutes. That should give them optimism that they can snag one of the home games, and keep the team alive until Steph Curry returns.

But it certainly won’t be easy. The Timberwolves, as we saw on Thursday, are tough, talented, and smell some blood in the water. And, unlike the Warriors, they’re healthy.

Here’s the full injury report.

Warriors

Out — Steph Curry (left hamstring strain)

No surprises here. Curry won’t be re-evaluated until Wednesday, so he’s missing at least tonight and Monday’s Game 4 at a minimum and, if I had to guess, probably Wednesday’s Game 5. The good news is that there’s a three-day break after Game 5. So if the Warriors can win tonight, they’ll guarantee that the series will make it to Game 6, which wouldn’t be until next Sunday. I would bet on Curry being able to play in that hypothetical game.

Available — Gary Payton II (left thumb splint)

Payton didn’t play as much in Game 2 as I expected, but it’s still crucial that he’s available to play and defend Anthony Edwards.

Timberwolves

Questionable — Rob Dillingham (right ankle sprain)

Dillingham has a chance to play tonight, after being inactive in the first two games of the series. He’s not a key part of the rotation, though, so even if he’s cleared, I wouldn’t expect him to play any meaningful minutes. Notably, Edwards is not on the injury report, despite the rolled ankle he suffered on Thursday.

Enjoy the game, Dub Nation! It tips off at 5:30 p.m. PT on ABC.
