Ohio State transfer Sean Stewart commits to Oregon

Ohio State transfer Sean Stewart is transferring to Oregon, a source confirmed to ZAGSBLOG.

Stewart is a 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward from Windermere, FL. Stewart averaged 5.7 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game in his lone season at Ohio State. He started in all 30 of his appearances for the Buckeyes this season and appeared in 33 games during his freshman season at Duke.

Asked why his son chose Oregon, Michael Stewart told ZAGSBLOG:

Originally a top-20 recruit in high school, Stewart participated in the 2023 McDonald’s All American Game and received over 20 offers in high school.

Entering his junior season, Stewart has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining. Since his days at Montverde Academy. Stewart’s calling cards have always been his physicality and leaping ability. Stewart is a high-volume rebounder and a strong finisher and made significant leaps offensively throughout his sophomore season at Ohio State.

Stewart’s best performance of the season came during a January 9th loss to Oregon, where he tallied 14 points and nine rebounds in the effort.

With the addition of Stewart, Oregon now has five additions set to join the program next season. In addition to Sean Stewart, Oregon has earned commitments from Miles Goodman (Penn State), TK Simpkins (Elon), Devon Pryor (Texas) and three-star JJ Frakes.
