Steph Curry ‘day-to-day’ with hamstring strain as Warriors brace for Game 2 without him
Curry will undergo an MRI on Wednesday after exiting Game 1 with a left hamstring strain, casting doubt on his availability moving forward.
The Golden State Warriors opened the Western Conference Semifinals with a hard-fought 99-88 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night—but the victory came at a cost.
Stephen Curry exited in the second quarter of Game 1 after suffering a left hamstring strain and did not return. While the severity remains unknown, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said after the game that Curry is considered day-to-day and will undergo an MRI on Wednesday to determine the extent of the injury.

“He’s obviously crushed,” Steve Kerr said.
Day-to-day, per Kerr.
Kerr later acknowledged that the Warriors will prepare as if Curry won’t be available for Game 2.

Curry played just 13 minutes but scored 13 points before leaving the game. He helped the Warriors set the tone early as they built a 13-point halftime lead. However, his absence was noticeable down the stretch, with Golden State leaning on Jimmy Butler and Buddy Hield to close things out.
It’s an unsettling development for Golden State, who just finished a grueling seven-game series against the Houston Rockets on Sunday. And with only one day of rest between games, the team will likely be cautious with Curry’s recovery timeline, regardless of the MRI results.
Game 2 is set for Thursday night in Minneapolis, and the Warriors now face a quick turnaround without their best player. For now, all eyes will be on Curry’s MRI—and whether Golden State can find a way to win while he recovers.
