Onyenso, a former top-40 prospect out of the class of 2022, started his career at Kentucky. In his two seasons there, Onyenso made 14 starts and averaged 3.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game while shooting 54.3% from the floor.
The Nigerian center will have a chance to have a big role with Virginia next season under its new head coach Ryan Odom.
Onyenso is now part of a six man portal class, joining former BYU guard Dallin Hall, former UC Irvine forward Devin Tillis, former North Dakota State guard Jacari White, former VCU small forward Martin Carrere and former Toledo guard Sam Lewis.
