A look at Game 6 through the lens of the fans.

Friday night was a very bad night for the Golden State Warriors. They lost 115-107 to the Houston Rockets in Game 6 of their Western Conference Playoff series, squandering an opportunity to clinch the series on their home court. Now they have to go back to Texas, and win a Game 7 on the road.

Here’s how the action transpired, as seen through fan reactions from the Golden State of Mind game thread.

First quarter: ‘Flat so far’

Steve Kerr tried out a new starting lineup, with Gary Payton II and Buddy Hield joining the star trio of Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler III, and Draymond Green. It had mixed results. The first quarter went back and forth and back and forth, with Green nearly messing around and getting ejected. The Dubs got sloppy late, and trailed 25-21 at the end of the frame.

Second quarter: ‘Looks like it’s about over’

Things spiraled out of control in the second quarter, with the Warriors falling behind by 11, while Curry picked up his third foul. But then the Dubs figured it out, and rattled off 11 unanswered points to tie the game. Houston answered with a run as well, though, before Butler made a wild shot at the end of the quarter. The Rockets led 53-48 at the break.

Third quarter: ‘Unreal’

They flirted with disaster in the third quarter, with the game nearly getting out of hand on multiple occasions. But then they showed signs of life late, with Curry starting to take over. They only trailed 86-84 going into the fourth.

Fourth quarter: ‘Stick a fork in us’

The fourth quarter was an unmitigated disaster. It started with a four-point play for the Rockets just a few seconds in, and only got worse from there. The Warriors couldn’t make a bucket to save their soul, while Fred VanVleet did his bets Curry impression. Houston ran off 12 unanswered points to take a 17-point lead, and effectively end the game.
