A look at the fan reaction.

The Golden State Warriors got destroyed on Wednesday night, losing 131-116 to the Houston Rockets in Game 5 of their playoff series, and setting up a critical Game 6 at home on Friday.

Let’s see how the community reacted in real time to the disappointment, with a look through the Golden State of Mind game thread.

First quarter: ‘Curry just has to do better’

The Dubs jumped out to an early lead, and then the game essentially ended. The Rockets rattled off 15 straight points, and the Warriors forgot how to score. At the end of the quarter, the Dubs trailed 40-24 ... and Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler III, and Buddy Hield had combined for 0 points.

Second quarter: ‘Wtf are they even doing?’

The lead quickly ballooned to 25 points, as the Warriors offense stalled entirely. It took the Dubs more than five minutes to score, and by that point the game felt over. They finally figured some things out late, but then the Rockets went on an 8-0 run. Houston led 76-49 at the break.

Third quarter: ‘Sit every starter’

By the halfway mark of the third quarter, Steve Kerr had pulled his starters and emptied his bench. The game was over, and the Dubs trailed 107-80 going into the fourth.

Fourth quarter: ‘Moral victory’

With the back of the bench in, the Warriors finally started to figure things out. Moses Moody, Pat Spencer, Kevin Knox II, Braxton Key, and Trayce Jackson-Davis played very well, forcing Ime Udoka to put his starters back in. Scuffles ensued, with technicals and even an ejection for Pat Spencer as the Warriors tried to get inside the Rockets head before Friday.
