Significant Big West News.
Mahaney averaged just 4.5 points and 1.3 assists in his lone season at UConn after averaging 13.9 points in his two previous seasons at Saint Mary’s.
Mahaney was one of several outgoing transfers at UConn, along with Ahmad Nowell (VCU), Isaiah Abraham (Georgetown) and Youssouf Singare (High Point).
The Huskies, meantime, brought in Malachi Smith (Dayton) and Silas Demary Jr. (Georgia ) and a three-man recruiting class of Braylon Mullins, Jacob Furphy and Eric Reibe.
