The Lakers were getting the looks they wanted offensively in Game 2, an encouraging sign moving forward in the series against the Wolves.

The second game between the Lakers and Wolves featured a lot of improvements for Los Angeles.

The team's rebounding increased, the Wolves’ 3-point attempts decreased and the Lakers cruised to a 94-85 victory to even the series.

Scoring 94 points in the modern NBA would typically mean you are going to lose, but thanks to L.A.’s defensive dominance, they stayed in control for most of the game and came out on top.

While the points weren’t as high as expected, LeBron James was happy with the team’s shot quality.

“I thought we had some great looks tonight,” LeBron said. “I know a lot of my shots in the fourth quarter were great looks that just didn’t go. If we can continue to get great looks like that, we believe in our percentages. We got to continue to work the habits. We got to continue to work the habits and continue to shoot the ball with confidence.”

The NBA is a make-or-miss league. However, your odds of some of those makes improve when the shot quality is better. LeBron himself went 1-5 from deep and he got open looks from the top of the key, corner and wing.

During the regular season, LeBron shot 37% from deep, but in this series, he is shooting 20%. If he keeps getting those looks as this series continues, you’d bet that he will start making them more often than not.

This isn’t just true for LeBron. Minus Luka Dončić, every Laker has had a dip in offensive production during those series. And while Game 1 was a dud and Game 2 was an improvement, there is still a higher ceiling this team can reach, specifically in the offensive department.

It’ll be tough for Los Angeles to go to Minnesota and improve their scoring in a hostile environment, but this is the postseason. If it were easy, everyone would be able to do it.

Hopefully, the process will begin to match production and the Lakers can take control of this series. For now, they’ll be happy to have things even after avoiding the disaster of dropping both home games.
