BY ALEJANDRO LOPEZ
Kentucky has secured its fifth transfer portal acquisition.
Florida transfer Denzel Aberdeen will play for the Wildcats next season, he announced Monday.
The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 7.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game for the Gators in his junior season. Aberdeen has played all three seasons of his collegiate career at Florida.
While he will wear a different jersey next season, he will still compete in the SEC under Mark Pope and Kentucky.
In Pope’s first season as the program’s head coach, he led Kentucky to its first Sweet 16 appearance since 2019.
The Wildcats have also signed Pitt transfer Jaland Lowe, Arizona State transfer Jayden Quaintance, Tulane transfer Kam Williams and Alabama transfer Mo Dioubate.
