BY ALEJANDRO LOPEZ

Auburn’s fourth transfer portal acquisition is one of the best players Division II college basketball has to offer.

Lincoln Memorial University transfer Elyjah Freeman will play for the Tigers next season, he announced on X on Saturday.

The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 18.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in his freshman season with LMU.

Auburn has experience with getting production out of D2 players. Tigers forward Chaney Johnson gave Auburn significant minutes the past two seasons to bolster one of the best rosters in college basketball.

Freeman will join Mississippi State transfer KeShawn Murphy, Texas Tech transfer Kevin Overton and UCF transfer Keyshawn Hall.

Auburn was rated the No. 1 team in the country for a majority of the regular season and made it to San Antonio for the Final Four where they were eliminated by the eventual champion Florida Gators.
