The Golden State Warriors wrap up their regular season on Sunday afternoon with a high-stakes showdown against the Los Angeles Clippers. Tip-off is set for 12:30 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on ESPN and NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
The Warriors handled business on Friday night, cruising to a 103-86 win over a depleted Portland Trail Blazers squad. Jimmy Butler led the way with 24 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line.

Stephen Curry added 14 points but briefly exited after suffering a thumb injury. X-rays came back negative, and Curry returned to the game before sitting out the entire fourth quarter with the result well in hand. After the game, he told reporters that the injury was painful but fully expects to suit up on Sunday.
Steph Curry said the thumb injury impacted his shooting “a little bit” because it was “fresh pain” but doesn’t think it’ll “last too long.”

What to watch for tonight:
Everything is at stake for Sunday’s finale against the Clippers. A Warriors’ win clinches the sixth seed, allowing them to avoid the Play-In Tournament. However, if they lose, they risk slipping to seventh in the Western Conference standings, forcing them into at least one extra game just to make the postseason.
Warriors will essentially get three cracks at playoffs

*Win Sunday vs Clippers and they’re top-six seed
*Lose and they’ll very likely get #7 seed (unless Wolves lose to Utah) and Grizzlies in first play-in game
*Lose again and they’d get winner of Kings/Mavs with season on line
Meanwhile, the Clippers have plenty on the line themselves. A win could bump them as high as the fourth seed, while a loss could drop them all the way down to seventh in the standings.
All eyes on 4 through 8 in the West with 3 automatic playoff spots still undetermined as we head into Sunday’s regular season finale!

The Clippers have won all three meetings with Golden State this season and currently hold a six-game win streak dating back to last year. But this time around, both teams are rolling out much different lineups than the last time they met on December 27.
For the Warriors, the biggest difference is Jimmy Butler. Golden State is 23-6 with Butler in the lineup this season and looks like a completely different team on both sides of the floor since his arrival.
On the other side, Kawhi Leonard—who missed all three previous games against the Warriors—is back and playing elite basketball. He’s averaging 25.8 points over his last 10 games while shooting 51.7% from the field and a scorching 45.2% from three.
Golden State’s season comes down to one game. The Clippers have had their number, but none of that matters now. If the Warriors want to punch their ticket to the postseason, they’ll have to earn it.
To put it simply, it’s win or play-in.
“I don’t want to be too dramatic -- it should be like a Game 7 kind of vibe.”
