Cooper Flagg Wins 2025 AP Player Of The Year
A well-deserved honor
We haven’t written a lot about the Player of the Year stuff honestly because the vote is clearly going to split between different awards: Auburn’s Johni Broome will get some and so will Duke’s Cooper Flagg.
Well, Flagg got the AP Award, which is pretty great. He also got the NABC Player of the Year which is one to really value since it’s awarded by the coaches.
He still has doubters though, including former Virginia Tech and ESPN analyst Seth Greenberg, who thinks he’s not trustworthy in the clutch, pointing to November losses to Kentucky and Kansas where he had late turnovers (he had one against Clemson too, but because the floor was wet and he slipped).
That’s great, Seth! Flagg is a self-motivated player and this, we’re sure, will be up in the locker room for Flagg to contemplate as he and his Duke teammates prepare for the Final Four.
