A look at the live reactions to an amazing game.

The Golden State Warriors had a tremendous win on Thursday night, ending a six-game road trip by beating the Los Angeles Lakers 123-116 in a game with more highlights than anyone could possible count.

Let’s see how Warriors fans reacted to the action in live time, using comments from the Golden State of Mind game thread.

First quarter: “White hot”

Both teams were on fire to begin the game, with Brandin Podziemski leading the charge for the Dubs. Podz — who would finish with a career-best eight made threes — dropped in a trio of triples in the first three minutes of the game. The Warriors led 26-22 at the end of Q1.

Second quarter: “Podz is unconscious”

Podziemski’s hot night continued into the second quarter. The Warriors built up a comfortable double-digit lead, but the Lakers came clawing back. It looked like Los Angeles would take some momentum into the break, but then Podziemski nailed a running half-court buzzer-beater to end the half, sending the Dubs to the break with a 60-47 lead.

Third quarter: “Terrible to watch”

The third quarter was a grind. There were whistles and fouls galore, with the game screeching to a half at times. Still, the Warriors held a comfortable lead through most of it, and took an 88-77 lead into the final quarter.

Fourth quarter: “This game is crazy”

The fourth quarter was a masterpiece for the NBA. It was one of the best quarters in the league all season. Late in the frame, with the Warriors trying to hold off the Lakers, the teams exchanged highlight shot after highlight shot, often firing off the next deep three before Kevin Harlan was done describing the first. But the Warriors matched the Lakers shot-for-shot, and Draymond Green put on a defensive clinic with one of the defensive plays of the year, leading the Warriors to victory.

Post-game: “Best win of the year!”

With the win, the Warriors stayed in the fifth seed in the standings, while a loss would have seen them topple down to eighth. They’re now just a game behind the Lakers, and one-and-a-half games behind today’s opponent, the Denver Nuggets. And they’re 18-2 when Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler III both suit up.
