What’s been a mere rumor hovering over College Park, Maryland, now appears to be reality.
Early Sunday morning, ESPN reported that Maryland men’s basketball head coach Kevin Willard will be leaving for a similar role at Villanova.
WTOP can confirm reports that Willard will be leaving the University of Maryland.
Maryland men’s basketball earned a 4-seed in the NCAA tournament this year and made it to the Sweet 16 on Thursday before losing to Florida.
According to ESPN, Willard’s record was 65-39 with two NCAA tournament appearances in his three seasons with the Terps.
