Golden State basketball is on the way! Come join our game thread and chat about tonight’s matchup here.

The Golden State Warriors finish off another back-to-back with Tuesday night’s matchup against the New York Knicks. The game will be played at 4:30 PM PT in New York City and can be watched on TNT and NBC Sports Bay Area.

Previously with the Warriors:

The Warriors bounced back in the win column with last night’s 119-101 victory over the Charlotte Hornets. While the final score may suggest a blowout, the game remained competitive through three quarters, with Charlotte trailing by just nine entering the fourth.

However, that’s when Buddy Hield took over, catching fire with several key buckets that helped the Warriors outscore the Hornets 33-24 in the fourth quarter. Hield finished the night with a team-high 22 points as Golden State secured their eighth victory over their last 10 games.

What to watch for tonight:

Golden State faces its toughest test of the road trip as they head to Madison Square Garden to take on the Knicks. Winners of three straight, the Knicks boast a 40-20 record, sitting third in the Eastern Conference standings. Led by Jalen Brunson (26.1 PPG) and Karl-Anthony Towns (24.5 PPG), New York ranks fourth in offensive rating, 18th in defensive rating, and sixth in overall net rating.

Meanwhile, the Warriors enter this matchup on the second night of a back-to-back and dealing with multiple injuries. Jonathan Kuminga remains sidelined with an ankle sprain, and defensive specialist Gary Payton II is ruled out after suffering a nasal contusion against the Hornets.

Stephen Curry is also listed as questionable after rolling his ankle last night. His absence would be a significant blow, especially since he’s been red hot recently, averaging 29.5 points per game over his last 10 contests while shooting 50.8% from the field and 41.9% from deep.

If Curry can’t go, Jimmy Butler will need to step up. Despite taking just seven shots against Charlotte, Butler still contributed 13 points, largely due to going a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. While his scoring numbers have been modest thus far, his presence has been invaluable with Golden State now 8-1 whenever Butler plays.
