JJ Redick says Jordan Goodwin will be part of the rotation moving forward
After a string of impressive outings, Jordan Goodwin looks set to join the Lakers rotation moving forward.
The Lakers latest G League success story might have emerged midway through this season.
While Jordan Goodwin is not quite the undrafted diamond in the rough the team has unearthed in the past after bouncing around the league in recent seasons, he’s still someone who was brought to South Bay, found success and now is contributing to the Lakers.
Goodwin joined the Lakers near the trade deadline as a two-way signing. He immediately made an impact and, while he’s been called upon sporadically, he’s been a positive player just about every time.
That includes on Friday when he was part of the bench group that sparked an undermanned Lakers team to a win over the Clippers. After the contest, head coach JJ Redick said he anticipates Goodwin being in the rotation regularly moving forward.

The irony is that Goodwin is out with an injury for Sunday’s game, so he won’t be in the rotation. However, once he returns, it makes sense that he would be a fixture in that rotation.
He’s exactly the type of role player that the Lakers need. With multiple superstars, the team needs the glue players to do the dirty work and Goodwin is more than willing to do as much.
But he’s also capable of doing more. He’s shown an ability to do a lot of things offensively, whether it’s making reads out of pick and rolls as a screener or knocking down shots to space the floor.
When you’re looking for guards and wing players to surround Luka Dončić and LeBron James, Goodwin is what you’d be looking for. He’s excelled on the court and has played his way into the rotation.
Once he gets healthy, we’ll what he can continue to do with regular minutes and if that production only continues to grow.
