Paul George is the highest-paid of all players-turned-podcasters

Nine-time All-Star Paul George, who’s having a pretty rough season in 2024-25, announced this week that his podcast, Podcast P with Paul George, would be going on a hiatus as the Philadelphia 76ers attempt to make a playoff push.

Though podcasting is becoming a big business – infamous NBA podcaster Gilbert Arenas has even once said he believes there’s “NBA money” in the podcast game…

Gilbert Arenas: Trust me, there’s NBA money in the podcast game, but it’s going to take time.”

…whatever George is making with this side gig pales in comparison to his NBA contract, especially considering the 34-year-old is actually the ninth-highest-paid in the league this year at $49.2 million.

Today, we decided to look at the highest-paid NBA players who have become podcasters, both active and retired. Without accounting for inflation, Paul George tops the list. Several old-school guys like Shaquille O’Neal, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce have also ventured into podcasting with considerable success after making big money playing in the NBA.
