The Golden State Warriors wrap up this leg of their road trip before the All-Star Break with a trip down to Texas to play against the Dallas Mavericks. The game is set for 6:30 PM PT in Dallas and can be watched on ESPN and NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State is coming off a 125-111 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night, a win that once again pushed their record above .500. Stephen Curry continued his string of strong performances, tying his season-high with 38 points for his fourth consecutive game of 30 points or more.
Steph Curry dropped 30+ PTS yet again!

Meanwhile, the Warriors remain perfect with Jimmy Butler in the rotation. He’s scored 25 and 20 points in his first two games with the team. More importantly, he’s 23-of-28 from the free throw line, a big boost for a Warriors team that has struggled with free-throw shooting this season.
Jimmy Butler: 26 free throws in his first 7+ quarters with the Warriors. Thirteen in each game. Last Warriors player with 13+ in two straight games was Kevin Durant in 2018.

What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors get a matchup against a Mavs team still reeling from the controversial trade that sent Luka Dončić to Los Angeles in exchange for All-NBA big man Anthony Davis. While Mavs fans saw a glimmer of hope after Davis’ impressive debut—in which he recorded 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks against the Houston Rockets—that optimism was short-lived. Davis suffered a left adductor strain during the third quarter of that game and is now expected to miss multiple weeks.

To make the Davis injury even worse, Dallas will be without all of its centers tonight, as Daniel Gafford is sidelined with a knee sprain.

With both teams facing size challenges, expect a small-ball lineup from both sides. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opted to start Moses Moody at power forward in their last game, while Klay Thompson, whom Kerr once described as more of a four in today’s NBA, will look to exploit the matchup in his third contest against his former team.
