Holly Winterburn gets invite to WNBA training camp

The Atlanta Dream has signed GB guard Holly Winterburn to a training camp contract, the organisation announced last week.

It has long been a goal of Winterburn, a three-time WBBL Young Player of the Year and a 2024 EuroCup Women Champion with the London Lions, to make the WNBA and now she has been given an opportunity after continuing to impress in Europe, currently with Besiktas in Turkey.

“Holly is a versatile guard with extensive professional and international experience,” said Atlanta Dream General Manager Dan Padover. “We’re excited to see her compete at this level.”

Winterburn, the 2019 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic Women’s MVP, played collegiately at the University of Oregon for one year before returning to the UK, where she excelled in the Women’s British Basketball League (WBBL).

Training camp for the Atlanta Dream begins in April as the team prepares for the 2025 WNBA season.
