Warriors vs. Jazz injury report
The latest health updates ahead of Wednesday’s game between Golden State and Utah.
Amidst a whole lot of NBA trade deadline madness and drama, the Golden State Warriors have a game to play. There’s still basketball to be won, and the Dubs are kicking off a six-game road trip that will take them to the All-Star break with a visit to Salt Lake City, to take on the Utah Jazz.
Neither team is operating at maximum strength, though. Here’s the full injury report.
Warriors
Out — Jonathan Kuminga (right ankle sprain)
Kuminga remains sidelined — this will be his 16th consecutive game missed. But he is getting closer to a return, and did on-court drills in sight of the media on Wednesday.
Out — Moses Moody (bilateral low back strain)
Moody is playing the best basketball of his career, but sadly will have to miss at least one game with more back pain.
Probable — Draymond Green (left calf strain)
Green returned from a lengthy absence on Monday, and was a difference-maker in the team’s win over the Orlando Magic. It looks like he’s back for good, and hopefully he can stay healthy.
Probable — Andrew Wiggins (left hip soreness)
Wiggins has been on a tear lately, so hopefully he’s not too impacted by this minor injury.
Available — Kevon Looney (right nasal bone fracture — facemask)
Masked Looney: still a beast on the glass.
Jazz
Out — Collin Sexton (left ankle sprain)
When the Warriors and Jazz played a little over a week ago, it felt like Sexton was one of Utah’s only healthy players ... and now he’s out.
Out — Jalen Hood-Schifino (not with team)
Out — P.J. Tucker (not with team)
Hood-Schifino and Tucker came over from Los Angeles in a pair of deadline-deal trades. The former came from the Lakers and was a less-heralded part of the Anthony Davis/Luka Dončić deal, while the latter came from the Clippers in a smaller deal.
Out — Taylor Hendricks (right fibula fracture)
A tough season so far for the 2023 lottery pick, who has only played in three games and doesn’t seem too close to returning.
Out — Cody Williams (left ankle sprain)
And an injury for this year’s lottery pick, too. Neither Hendricks nor Williams played last week when the Warriors hosted the Jazz, either.
Questionable — Lauri Markkanen (low back injury management)
The Warriors have failed to land a lot of stars since they failed to land Markkanen. Do with that what you will.
Enjoy the action, Dub Nation!
