Report: Lakers locker room ‘shocked’ by Luka Doncic trade

With the Lakers and the Mavericks moving their stars Anthony Davis and Luka Doncic in one of the biggest trades in NBA history, players in L.A. are shocked.

With Anthony Davis reportedly getting traded to Dallas and Luka Doncic now becoming a Laker, the basketball world has been turned upside down.

This blockbuster trade seemingly came out of nowhere and even Lakers players are shocked by the news.

It doesn’t matter if you are LeBron James, AD or even Luka, no one seemingly knew this was coming.

Let this trade remind us that while rumors can be fun, many of the actual deals that become real happen privately and quietly.

Also, while fans call this a player’s run league, it is, in fact, run by the teams and owners.

Based on Saturday night’s reports, the only people who apparently knew about this trade were the coaches, general managers, and ownership.

The three teams involved decided in their own best interest and while people might assume that they’d discuss it with the star players, it seems that didn’t happen.

Now, a pair of Western Conference contenders have experienced major shake-ups, which have changed their seasons and impacted their futures.

Given that the Lakers are currently on a six-game road trip and coming off an impressive win against the Knicks, their night in New York has obviously taken a shocking turn.

L.A. will return to Los Angeles to play the Clippers this Sunday, and suddenly, their season and roster have dramatically changed with little to no warning.

This still feels unreal and a shock to everyone in the basketball world, but this is not a drill. Luka is a Laker and AD is a Maverick.
