Kate Hudson is returning to TV with the new Netflix comedy Running Point!

The 45-year-old actress stars in and executive produces the upcoming series, which hails from writer/producer Mindy Kaling.

“I’ve been eager to dive into something comedic with a team I admire, and this role offered a fresh challenge and was hilarious and engaging right from the start,” Kate told Tudum. “The chance to work with people I respect and to bring a unique female perspective to a male-driven world was incredibly appealing.”

Here’s a synopsis: When a scandal forces her brother to resign, Isla Gordon (Hudson) is appointed president of the Los Angeles Waves, one of the most storied professional basketball franchises, and her family business. Ambitious and often overlooked, Isla will have to prove to her skeptical brothers, the board, and the larger sports community that she was the right choice for the job.

The upcoming episode series features quite the cast, including Brenda Song, Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Toby Sandeman, Chet Hanks, Jay Ellis, Max Greenfield, Justin Theroux, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Roberto Sanchez, Uche Agada and Dane DiLiegro.
