Patrick Mahomes’ absurd TD throw to Travis Kelce against Texans worth every look

Another Chiefs game, another chance for magic from Patrick Mahomes

Every game, Patrick Mahomes finds a way to do something special.

His touchdown pass to Travis Kelce early in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s AFC Divisional Round game against the Houston Texans is the latest example.

With the Kansas City Chiefs holding a slim one-point lead — and the box score showing that Houston should be winning the game — Mahomes and the Kansas City offense faced a third-and-goal situation. With the football at the Houston 11-yard line, a touchdown was no sure thing.

But when Patrick Mahomes dials up moments like this, a touchdown almost feels inevitable:

With pressure coming off both edges early in the down, Mahomes begins to climb the pocket in response to the pass rush. Houston defensive tackle Mario Edwards Jr. gets his arms around Mahomes’ legs, but somehow the Kansas City quarterback is able to stay upright long enough — and get enough on this throw to Travis Kelce — to convert the touchdown.

Here is another look at the incredible play from Mahomes:

This game is far from over, and the Texans remain down by just one score.

But that might just mean more time for some Mahomes Magic.
