College Basketball Handshake Nearly Erupts Into Fight
Wednesday night's basketball game between the Florida State Seminoles and the Pittsburgh Panthers ended on a sour note after the players nearly broke out into a fight on the court following the final buzzer.
In the final seconds of the game, Seminoles player Malique Ewin dunked the ball even though the team was 10 points ahead and their victory was already a sealed deal. After the final buzzer cemented the score at 82–70, the two teams lined up for the traditional handshake line following every game. But some Panthers players seemingly weren't happy about the show of confidence from FSU, as it apparently came off as adding insult to injury.

As the coaches and other staff began shaking hands and the players lined up to do the same, Panthers guard Ishmael Leggett wanted to let his thoughts be known. He approached Ewin and appeared to be yelling to the point that other players began to get riled up, leading players from both sides to split the two squads apart. The FSU players eventually made their way to the tunnel unharmed.
It remains to be seen if the Seminoles and Panthers will meet again in the ACC Tournament in March. The Seminoles' next game is against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Jan. 18, while the Panthers will face off against the Clemson Tigers on Jan. 18.
