When will Jarred Vanderbilt return from his foot injury?
Jarred Vanderbilt has yet to suit up for the Lakers in the 2024-25 season. How close is the wing to a return to the court?
Jarred Vanderbilt has yet to play for the Lakers this season as he recovers from multiple offseason foot surgeries.
It all began in Feb. 1, 2024 when Vanderbilt left a game against the Celtics early due to a foot injury that would later be diagnosed as a mid-foot sprain. That was the last time Vanderbilt played in a Lakers game.
He was upgraded to questionable before the Lakers’ final playoff game of the season against the Nuggets. While he was on the bench and available to play, he never stepped onto the court for in-game action.
After avoiding opting not to go the route of season-ending surgery after initially suffering their injury, Vando had not one but two offseason procedures that reset his recovery timeline.
Vanderbilt’s rehab has been going slower than the team expected. After the Lakers reported that he suffered a setback and was now targeting an early January return, optimism for Vanderbilt was at an all-time low.
However, recent reports about Vanderbilt have improved. It appears he will soon be playing for the Lakers.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick described his return as “imminent” on Jan. 11. It appears he won’t be participating in the team’s current January homestand, but the wing will play for the Lakers soon enough.
While we await the return of the Vando Vault, we will track his return-to-play timeline and provide every update we get through the team, media reports and more in this stream. So bookmark this page and stay tuned to Silver Screen and Roll for more updates on when Vanderbilt will return in 2025.
