Duke Gets A Road Win At Virginia, 60-55
And a nice bounce back from the loss to UNC
#14 Duke went to Charlottesville Sunday after losing in overtime to Carolina Thursday and pulled off a comeback win against Virginia, 60-55.
Duke was down 29-20 at the half and was still down after the third quarter 43-39.
However, the fourth quarter belonged to the Blue Devils as Duke outscored Virginia 21-12.
Duke struggled offensively early, shooting just 19 percent in the first quarter and hitting just 1-10 on three point attempts in the first half.
Duke actually shot better in each quarter, going from 19 percent to 38.46 percent to 43.75 percent.
Oluchi Okananwa led the way with 17 points and seven rebounds. Ashlon Jackson had 11 points and Toby Fournier had eight.
Duke didn’t shoot all that well - 36.4 percent overall and 25 percent from behind the line - but the Blue Devils pounded Virginia on the boards, 44 to 29. And you don’t see 20 offensive rebounds to just seven for the Wahoos.
With the win, Duke moves to 13-4 and 4-1 overall.
Next up for the Blue Devils is the first-ever game against Cal as an ACC team. That’s on Thursday.
