Leonard Hamilton’s Former Players Are Suing Him

This ought to be interesting...

Bet you didn't see this one coming: six former Florida State Seminoles are suing their old coach, Leonard Hamilton, for $1.5 million in unpaid NIL promises.

Even more wild, the six - Darin Green Jr., Josh Nickelberry, Primo Spears, Cam’Ron Fletcher, De’Ante Green and Jalen Warley - boycotted FSU’s practice before playing Duke last season and were prepared to boycott the game as well (this was the game where Jared McCain exploded for 35 points).

They allegedly only played when Hamilton promised the money would arrive the following week, which they say never happened.

This isn’t the first time someone has walked over NIL promises. UNLV quarterback Matthew Sluka quit his team over the issue and others have been accused of doing so as well.

However, this is the first time that someone has actually sued his coach over unpaid NIL promises.

The 76-year-old Hamilton, a former Kentucky assistant under Joe B. Hall, is no wide-eyed innocent. We’re sure he saw quite a bit in Lexington.

He’s trying to adjust but clearly, assuming the players are being honest that is, he’s not done it very well.

It won’t surprise us if he’s the next long-time ACC coach to call it quits.
