Rae Burrell, who enjoyed a breakout season for the Los Angeles Sparks this summer, will head to Miami to play 3-on-3 basketball during the WNBA offseason.

Rae Burrell is the latest WNBA player to commit to playing in Unrivaled this offseason. Burrell, a Los Angeles Sparks guard who averaged 5.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game this past season, is an up-and-coming two-way player in the league. Now, after the best season of her young career, she will head to Miami for a player development focused 8 weeks of 3-on-3 basketball.

Burrell was drafted out of Tennessee with the No. 9 pick in 2022, and has shot 34.5% from three throughout her career. This past season, she started seven games, and scored double-digit points six times. She is the fourth Sparks player to commit to Unrivaled, joining Azura Stevens, Dearica Hamby, and Rickea Jackson.

How will Unrivaled work?

Unrivaled, a new 3-on-3 professional women’s basketball league, includes 36 of the league’s best players. Players will be divided among six teams — each led by an experienced coach with a player development background — and games will take place three nights a week. The league has a media rights deal with TNT, and will pay players an average salary of more than $200,000, in addition to offering players equity. Games will be played on a compressed full-court, and take place in a soundstage in Miami.
