Cavs news and links for Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are still undefeated thanks to an up-and-down road win over the Chicago Bulls.

Donovan Mitchell - Cavalier of the Game

I thought about going with Darius Garland for another clutch performance or Ty Jerome for the spark he provided off the bench. I even toyed with giving it to Kenny Atkinson for his continued ability to press the right buttons for this team. But, in the end, you can’t overlook Mitchell’s 36 points.

Mitchell kept the Cavs in the game with 25 first-half points. Cleveland’s defense was a step slow throughout the first two quarters as they gave up over 30 points in both frames. They would’ve been completely out of the game if it wasn’t for the scoring onslaught Mitchell went on to allow the Cavaliers to keep pace.

He was also instrumental in securing the victory. Garland made the clutch-time plays, but Mitchell’s 10 points, steal, and assist in the fourth quarter put Garland in a position to once again ice away the game and leave that Bulls fan hanging.

Mitchell also did this, which is easily the most impressive Cavs highlight of the season

Mitchell hasn’t had to carry them for 48 minutes very often during this perfect start. He has, however, been there when they’ve needed him like they did against the Bulls.

Tony Pesta had a nice breakdown of what has made Garland so good in the clutch.
